Composition: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Malbec

Our brand name and flagship label were inspired by an etching titled Le Petit Prisonnier by 19th century Spanish artist Francisco Goya. At The Prisoner, we know that the problems in the U.S. prison system are ingrained, nuanced, and seemingly intractable. We also believe that change can happen and that it starts with conversation, collaboration, and creativity.
The Prisoner Cabernet Sauvignon palate is soft and plush, unfolding into a full, generous mid-palate and a sturdy, lingering finish. Ripe black and blue fruits dominate, with layers of cassis, blackberry pie, and deep purple plum, complemented by hints of bay leaf, cracked pepper, and crushed herbs that evoke a true sense of place. Integrated oak brings melted spice notes and toasted vanilla bean, seamlessly framing and elevating the vibrant fruit profile while adding subtle minerality for depth and complexity. The result is a wine with remarkable balance, where the harmony of fruit, spice, and wood creates a truly memorable tasting experience.

Sourced meticulously from premier vineyard sites across the renowned Napa appellations, this wine vividly captures the complexity and depth of Napa Valley’s diverse terroirs. Each distinct locale contributes nuances that Hofliger skillfully harmonizes into a cohesive and expressive blend, beautifully reflecting the essence of its origin.

Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Scents of black currant, cedar chips, mandarin, mint, and lit tobacco sparks fly out of the glass. A strong entry of plum and cocoa encrusted roast are followed by firm and eventful tannins. This is a big wine and would do well with some time to unwind, but it is queued up to be a showstopper. The finish is massive and absolute with dark chocolate covered cherries, stewed plums, and Cuban cigars.
