The name Farnito is derived from a type of oak tree known as Farna found in the vicinity of the vineyards. Carpineto Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from estate-grown fruit. A full-bodied Super Tuscan, Carpineto Farnito is a rich expression of the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal boasting complex aromas of ripe red cherry with concentrated flavors of spice and licorice. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is structured with a vanilla note and big tannins marking the finish.

On the nose, it expresses complex yet clean aromas of black fruits, spices, licorice, vanilla, and cherry. it is full-bodied, rich, and persistent, with elegant tannins and a structured finish. Ideal to accompany grilled steaks, roasted rack of lamb, or lamb chops. It is also excellent with aged Tuscan cheeses.

Composition: 65% Sangiovese, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon

Shortly after its release in 1985, Balifico was awarded the label Supertuscan. Balifico wine is named after the renowned Volpaia’s vineyard on which its grapes are grown.

The Balifico has a vivid ruby color with a dark purple tinge. The nose is elegant, displaying aromas of blackberry and blueberry with hints of oak and cinnamon. This is a smooth wine with good structure and a long finish tasting of red fruit.
